Library - Things You Can Do Other Than Borrowing Books

Library is not just about borrowing books. There are so many other facilities or functions accessible at library, namely, print and scan papers, use computer equipped, set in quite space for self-study, have a cup of cafe when tired, have the group discussion on Level 1, and even heat your lunch using the microwave.

MQ library allows you to print and scan papers. It costs you $0.11 per page for black and white, and free of charge for scanning (but you must make sure you have balance in your student ID).

The library has many computers available for use in both level 1 and level 2. It is necessary to book a computer, especially during the exam period. You need to use your student ID to book a computer in some specialised computers, which you can find around level 1 and level 2 at library. To book it, you need to type the time you start to need, and then the computer number will be shown on the screen. You should be there no more than 20 minutes after the time you set. If you are late, the computer can be used by another person then.

To use the computer, you must hold an available student ID and passwords. Each time, you are allowed to use the computer for two hours. If no one booked your computer, your time will be extended automatically, until it has been booked.

The group discussion spaces are set in level 1 at library, where discussion with the normal volume is allowed. You should book a group discussion space here (left-hand side when you walk in library).

Before you enter the second front door on level 2 at library, there is a café. You can get some bread as well.

On level 3, there is a microwave close to toilets. You can heat up your lunch here more quick if you planned to stay at library for the whole day. Eating is only allowable on level 3.

If you still have questions about borrowing books at MQ library, we would love to hear from you. Please tweet us @mqmadness or email us at mqmadness1@gmail.com.
