How to save on fares?

As a university student you are entitled to receive concession fares. You must have valid concession stickers on your student cards or hold a valid concession card to be able to purchase concession tickets.

Travel10 tickets are also popular to students. Travel10 tickets save time and sometimes are cheaper than paying single trips even already paying concession fares. Tickets can be purchased from newsagents. It can also be purchased inside the university from the Macquarie uni shop just outside the campus hub in Building C10A. A newsagent is also located inside the train station.

If you are using multiple and connecting bus services, it is wise to ask for transfer tickets so that you only pay once for your entire journey. Transfer tickets are available if your are using same bus operators for your entire journey. Ask the driver or the bus operator if you are entitled to avail one.

Reminder: Most International students are not entitled to concession fares. Only those permitted and are supported by the Australian government are entitled. Penalties apply for students purchasing concession tickets without valid concession stickers or cards.
